slept in my car with my wife and baby

Hi,

I have a strong feeling that while this message may not be for everybody, it just might be for you.

In the picture below, I was 32 years old and broke. I had just had my baby girl a few months after quitting my job to chase my dream of being a globally acclaimed and recognized Business Strategist.

No one knew me.

I didn't know how to do any of the things I do so effortlessly today, like write books, create sold out online courses, electrify audiences with my live sessions, or build businesses.

I was writing my book on two paint buckets and using my wife's LaserJet printer to send out proposals to corporate clients, hoping they'd give me a chance.

One night, my wife, baby, and I slept in my car overnight, because the house was too hot and we didn't have enough money to buy fuel to power the generator, so we could use the air conditioner.

I had been married for over 2 years, and I felt like a failure.

That night, watching over my girls sleep in the backseat of my car, I made an all-or-nothing decision:

I was either going to become a successful Coach ... or I was going to die trying, following my dreams.

There was no Plan B, simply because I couldn't afford it. LOL

That was 9 years ago.

Fast forward a couple of years... age 40

The man on the Forbes article (yeah, it's true, stop doubting, read the article) is the same guy (only better looking,), but before you think I'm on the list of Africa's richest men, I haven't yet made it to the cover, my money is still lifting weights, but at least I sha made it to the magazine

My daily routine hasn't changed that much: writing, speaking, recording, demanding more from people, kicking butt and growing their businesses.

As of today, I've been mentioned as one of the Top 100 Business Coaches To Follow On Twitter 4 times!

I've been featured in international magazines like The Economist and Slate Magazine UK

My books have sold over 16,000 physical copies (and that doesn't include ebooks)

My podcast on iTunes was recently ranked the 3rd most listened to podcast in Ghana & 4th most listened to podcast in Nigeria in the Entrepreneurship category, behind Gary Vee.

Now I share stages and swap phone calls with many amazing and successful individuals... and, finally, I don't have to sleep in the car with my wife and baby or watch my family struggle.

In the beginning, there were just a few people who believed in me, five or ten. And then there were fifty. Then a hundred, then now. several thousand (okay, technically, 112,000 on Instagram, 60,000 on Twitter & 17,000 on FaceBook, but hey, who's counting)?

Never limit the vision you have for your life based on your current circumstances or skills.

You are more powerful, imaginative, and stronger than you imagine.

I had no logical reason to believe that I could one day live my dream as a Business Strategist, Author & International Speaker; no reason to believe, except that my heart told me that this was my path, and I knew that if I stuck with it and worked my ass off, all the struggle and the hardship and the toil would one day be worth it.

The journey to greatness begins the moment you become uncomfortable with being comfortable.

Don't forget that growth and greatness often come from those seemingly endless, fruitless days and nights of faith and discipline.

What you want exists. Don't stop until you get it.

And when you get it, don't stop!
